COLLARED SHAG SCARF

wool, mohair, hand spun combined fibres, viscose, silk
hand woven and pieced

Designed and produced for Scanlan&Theodore, 2003

Includes many yarns and textures in the one fabric, giving a patched or collaged feel. The scarf is constructed from 3 pieces. The central piece has been woven on a wider warp and shaped to produce a stand up collar.

Split Pleat Wrap

Designed and produced for Scanlan&Theodore

Cotton, Polyester, Silk, Viscose, Lurex, Wool Hand woven and folded. Permanent pleated. Hand pieced. Combines narrow strip weaving like that of kente cloth with origami-like folding and permanent pleating. Plays with tonal and textural contrast. This technique has traveled from exhibition work into boutique production and back to exhibition in new forms.

Developed as a summer evening accessory. Explores transparency and monotone patterning. Beads are woven in on the loom. Sold exclusively through Scanlan and Theodore boutiques, Summer 2002/03.
